Sorry, I haven't been posting much. I've been really busy lately and this week I'm back in Sacramento teaching outdoor science lessons at Deer Creek Hills.
It's amazing how much the preserve has changed in the last month. The grass is already starting to dry and brown up. The water is drying up too, it's not quite as easy to find as it was in April, but if you look hard you can still get to it. Also, I'm happy to report, there are still some pretty cool wildflowers blooming. We found a bunch of Harvest Brodiaea (Brodiaea elgans) which have lovely purple flowers and belongs to the Liliaceae family. I took some pictures of them so I'll post them once I get back to Reno and get them downloaded.
Have a good rest of your week and I'll try to post soon.
