Quote of the Week, Perhaps a Bit Longer

"The biological community is a vast and complicated system for sharing and distributing the energy of the sun among a diversity of life forms." ~Martson Bates

Virginia Range, Hidden Valley

Last week, the dogs and I went for a lovely hike up into the Virginia Range.  We started at Hidden Valley Regional Park and hiked quite a ways up one of the drainages.  The dogs had a blast exploring and meeting new friends.

It was a beautifully sunny day.  In the shade it was cold enough to make your ears and fingers hurt, and in the sun you still felt crisp, but it was a crispness that had the sun's warmth behind it, making you want more of that delicious warmth.  I love that feeling!

Here are some pictures:

i love exploring up there, and for how close to reno it is, there is still an awesome feeling of being away from it all when you're in those little canyons. wish i could have gone :)
