Rain in our front yard
Nevada's average annual precipitation is 7 inches, this weekend we'll possibly receive between 2-4 inches. Truckee and Sparks are bracing for floods people were out in droves yesterday filling sand bags preparing for this onslaught of precipitation. According to weather.com "A deep dip, or trough, in the jet stream is currently in place over the eastern Pacific Ocean. This has been sending a parade of frontal systems and upper-level disturbances into the West Coast since Wednesday."

Moderate flooding — estimated to be around 4 feet of water — is predicted for the Sparks industrial area and Steamboat Creek Basin, while Reno is expected to receive minor flooding, according to the National Weather Service in Reno.Truckee is in store for major flooding Sunday, from a storm that began Saturday night, the weather service said.
I have to say, I've been looking forward to winter weather, albeit, I was thinking of snow--way to shake things up Reno. I think I'll stay inside today, with a nice cup of tea and work on my scarf or my puzzle--probably a bit of both.
Stay safe and stay warm!!!
