Quote of the Week, Perhaps a Bit Longer

"The biological community is a vast and complicated system for sharing and distributing the energy of the sun among a diversity of life forms." ~Martson Bates

09-28-2008: Glenwood

The climb out of Mogollon was steep, it was especially hard because it was on pavement. We assumed that after days on dirt roads, pavement would be cake, we were mistaken. We had to take a handful of breaks on the way up, but once we finally reached the top it was a nice long coasting downhill into Glenwood. Downhills are so much easier on asphalt, at least for me. We decided we would head down to Glenwood and camp at the Bighorn Campground. It's a free campground, but not that nice. It's right off the highway, the campsites are pretty squished together and there were some fairly sketchy characters hanging around.

We're trying to decide what to do next. Coco's paws are pretty sore and the car is in an inconvenient location. Dan went into town this morning to see what time the store opens and to check out the $15.00 campground that has showers. Since the dogs seem tired we might spend another night here in Glenwood, but we really don't want to stay at the Bighorn Campground again. We might head to Bill Evans lake again or we might push all the way to Silver City, we'll see what the day brings.
