11-04-2008: Leaving Prescott

We've been on the road over two months now, which seems crazy. We stayed at a hotel in Prescott, AZ for two nights. We went out on the town for Halloween, it was a lot of fun. We hung out on "Whiskey Row" and danced. The next day we were pretty lazy. Dan went to town and bought some books and socks I read and watched some TV. On the second we left Prescott, heading out on Williams Valley Road which is a nice road for biking except for the fact that there were no shoulders or bike lanes and there was quite a bit of traffic. We then headed west on Campwood road a great, wide, dirt road. It was a bit washboardy in some places, but overall made for good riding. We camped at a little site we called poop camp, because behind a group of trees we found a bunch of piles of poop and toilet paper, yuck. Last night we camped near Campwood at a site we called skull camp because Dan found several animal skulls in the area. We had a semi-tradgedy last night. Dan's camel pack valve was not turned off and the water leaked out over a bunch of our stuff and the tent. It wasn't too bad, but a pain to dry things off and a waste of precious water...oh-well the next water is only six miles away.
