More Babies

This morning we woke up to two new baby goats. Tippy, Dan's niece's goat finally had her babies, two very cute little boys. Maddie, Dan's niece, was hoping for girls, but the boys are adorable anyways. Everyone was worried that the babies wouldn't have long ears. A short-eared billy goat that was supposed to be too young to breed ended up breeding most of the female goats, hence Bodie's short-ears. Without knowing that most of the goats had already been bred, A long-eared billy goat was brought in to breed the goats. Most of the goats who were bred by the short-eared billy goat had their babies back in Feburary. Luckily Tippy had not been bred by the short eared goat. Her babies have nice long ears. Although, Dan and I are biased, we like little earless goats and wouldn't have been bothered at all if Tippy's babies had tiny ears too. Here are some pictures of the new babies.

There are now only two more goats who are going to have babies, they should have them very soon!

they are super cute! I'm so glad they were born healthy and that Tippy is OK.

does the length of ear matter? like are long eared goats more prized over short eared goats? the long ears seem like they'd get in the way when they're eating and stuff, like how sandy's ears always got wet when she drank. anyways, they're cute!

It seems that long ears are more prized, they said something about not being able to show the earless goats in 4-h. I'm not sure what the reasoning is.
