Quote of the Week, Perhaps a Bit Longer

09-24-2008: Gila Wilderness Loop Cont...

Today we went from Diamond Creek to the Beaverhead Work Station. Our ride was a bit tougher than yesterdays, but it was still nice. We were able to ride most of the time, I did push a couple of times, mainly because my legs were tired not because the steepness of the hill or the rockiness of the terrain. We had a big dinner tonight - a mixture of tortellini and penne with olive oil, salt, margarine and basil sauce, very yummy.

We decided to camp here at Beaverhead. At first we thought we would ride a few more miles, but since there is electricity and water here we decided to have a good night's rest, a lot of food and a lot of water. If we do the next leg in one day we will ride 31 miles in a day, much farther than any of our other days. We might camp one night at the half way mark, but there is no water on this stretch, so we would like to get through it as quickly as possible. This ride has been so much fun, even though parts of it have been frustrating and a pain in the booty. I can't wait until I'm in better shape this ride will definitely help with that.
