Special Edition: Saving Fish...Many Fish

On Wednesday we took mom up to chicken creek, we needed to take the water off of the fields and out of the irrigation canal. Fish tend to swim into the irrigation canal and when we stop the water they get stranded and eventually die. So we spent most of our day searching for fish in the canal, catching them and transplanting them back into the main creek. It was a lot of fun and very rewarding, I think mom had a good time too. We rescued approximately 30 fish, big ones, small ones, medium ones. We caught all the ones we saw and hopefully we saw all the ones that were stranded. We stayed until all the water was pretty much gone so we should have been able to see if there were any fish that we missed while there was still water in the canal. Yay, for saving fish!
